Utah Trip

Avery had so much fun on her first road trip to Utah. On our way down there she slept all the way until Tremonton and then woke up. I was past all the Tremonton exits and I didn't want to turn back to Kyle's grandmas, so I just kept on going with Avery crying in the back seat. She wore herself out by Willard and slept the rest of the way to Roy. Thank goodness for the radioKyle came down on Friday with his sister so Avery and I didn't have to drive home alone.
Here are just a few of the people she was able to meet during our trip (the ones that I remembered to take pictures of).

There are 5 generations on my dads side of the family. My Great Grandpa Thompson is 99 years old and is still in pretty good health. The women holding Avery is my Grandma Meenderink and my dad and I are in the back. My grandma is very into geneology and puts all her 5 generation pictures of her grandchildren in the Standard Examiner. So keep checking the paper for our debut. I almost feel a little famous, but it's just Roy.

This is Kian Rev Fitzpatrick. My best friend Chantal and her husband Brady had there baby boy the exact same day Avery was born. Kian just happened to be 5 weeks early and Avery was 3 days late. Can you tell there is a difference in size? I love my chubby baby!! I just know they are going to be boyfriend and girlfriend someday even if we have to force them together. They were so fun to take pictures of together because Avery's big head and flower kept flopping onto Kian and I think he was getting pissed off.

Avery also got to meet my two very good friends Shelly and Tiffannie and Tiffannie's little boy Heston, who I also took a picture of and forgot to post. It was SO FUN to hang out with them and catch up on our lives. I was very sad Avery didn't get to meet Jodi, Jessica, and Lori, but my cell phone broke the very first part of our trip and it was hard to get something planned at the last minute. But we will be back in May for a week again so we will have to try and plan something then. Avery and I are just dieing to meet and see everyone.

Avery also got to meet Kyle's grandma Mary who is 96 years old. She broke her hip last year and is now confinded to her home in Tremonton. Kyle was so excited to introduce the two to each other, you can tell by the grin on his face. You can tell from this picture who Avery got her chubby cheeks from. Thanks Daddy!!

I just thought I would throw this picture in because I love this onesie. My husband for some strange reason loves to do taxes (maybe because he's a finance major and works for a bank) and when I bought this onesie I was totally thinking of him. I always thought Avery looked more like her dad, but a lot of people in Utah said she looks like me. Now I'm not so sure anymore.

Avery also got to meet my brother Lynn and his wife Tory and my sister Miranda. I just completely forgot to take there pictures together. She also got to meet my Aunt Wendy and Uncle Kent and my cousins Jordyn, Paige, Mason, and Gus. My cousin Elizabeth (Buffie) came down from Salt Lake one day to do my hair and she also got meet Avery. We also took her to Heber on Saturday to meet my uncle Neal and aunt KayLynn and Grandma Galer. One day I even took her into my mom's work, so her grandma could show her off. We did so much traveling and introductions, we were exhausted by the end of our trip. It's always nice to go to Utah where my family is and I have a ton of help, but it's nice to come home too.

Utah Here We Come!!!

Avery is going on her very 1st road trip to Utah. I am so excited to come and introduce my baby to all my family and friends, but incredibly nervous at the same time. I'm praying she just sleeps the whole time or I can at least make it to Kyle's grandma's in Tremonton before she needs to eat again. We will be leaving tomorrow and staying for probably a week or so. Hopefully that will be plenty of time to visit with everyone. I want to try and get together with everyone, maybe have a girls night or something. So wish us luck on our 4 hour drive and we hope to see you ALL soon!!

Gallbladder/ Avery Update

Avery loves her new tummy time mat. A builder of Kyle's gave it to her and she has so much fun playing on it. It is suppose to be a surfboard and she loves to look at the fish in it and kick her feet and coo. I love to hear her little voice, she is just so happy and fun to play with.

Avery is getting so big, literally. I weighed her the other day and she was 10 lbs. 5 ozs. at 5 weeks old. I can't believe how big she is getting. She is now completely on formula, because the anesthesia dried up my milk. I'm happy to have my body back, but I was sad to not be able to provide nourishment for my daughter anymore. It's amazing how guilty you feel when you can't nurse your baby, it almost feels like your a failure. But I guess I had good reason, I had to have that surgery.

Avery loves to kick and stretch as you can see. She is getting so fun with her facial expressions and her alertness. She seems like a completely different baby now. I'm working on getting her on a schedule so I can get more done during the day and maybe she'll start sleeping through the night. Boy I can't wait for the day when she is sleeping through the night.

Isn't this a lovely picture...I took it because I want Avery to know everything I went through for her. I 'll use this picture to make her feel guilty sometime down the road when I need to teach her a lesson. It just may come in handy some day. My surgery went fine just over a week ago, but as you can see from the picture they had to leave a drain in (it's not urine, it's bile). I had 2 stones left in the duct that was connected to my gallbladder that still needed to pass. There is a 50% chance they pass on there own and if not you have to have another procedure. X-Rays showed on Thursday that mine indeed passed on there own, so no more procedures, YAHOO!!! I get the drain out on Tuesday, but the doctor told me it hurts when it comes out, so I'm not really looking forward to it that much, although it will be nice to not have a tube hanging out of my chest anymore.
