That's right as you can see I am still pregnant. Today was suppose to be the big day, the day I have been waiting for all my life (or at least the last 9 months)...and nothin'. What's the deal here even I'm not that stubborn. I had another appointment on Wednesday and the doctor said I'm still not dilated or effaced at all. I asked him if he would start me the next Monday (tomorrow) and he said because I haven't progressed on my own at all, he is afraid I would end up with a C-section, so in other words hang in there cuz I'm not starting you yet. I'm not really sure how much longer I can hang in there, my bladder is getting weaker and weaker and my patience growing smaller and smaller. The only hope I got from my doctors appointment was that when he sees me again this Wednesday and I have still failed to progress, he would start me on some gel that would help "ripen" me. I guess that means thin my cervix, but why couldn't he have just said that. He also said there were a few other things he could try, but if all else fails, he would definetly start me on March 3rd, but I'm going to try and talk him into delivering a leap year baby. So the new goal is to deliver a beautiful 7-8 pound baby girl by Friday...stay tuned for the latest.

Baby Bump Days
Just to give everyone an idea of what I looked like
a year ago compared to my what seems like never ending baby bump days of today. The picture that is at the top of my blog was taken January 2007 in McCall Idaho at the Winter Carnival and the picture I am posting now was taken January 2008 same place, just 36 weeks pregnant. I can't wait to have my body back. I understand though that that doesn't neccisarily even happen right after you give birth, especially since I plan on nursing, but it sure will be nice not caring around all this extra weight. It still amazes me to think I have a 7 pounder(at least thats what I'm hoping for) just hanging out inside of me. The miracle of life is truly amazing to me. I hope she comes soon!! Kyle still looks exactly the same, he just traded what team he was going to wear this time, he loves his Utah State Aggies and Boise State Broncos.

Happy Valentines Day Honey...
About My Man...
My husband loves to hear stories about himself so in honor of his upcoming birthday (February 16th) and Valentines Day I thought I would share some fun facts about him and our wonderful life together.
What is his name? Kyle Larell Jones
How long have you been married? 5 years 1 month
Who long did you date? Dated 6 months, engaged 4 of those (you do the math, we didn't waste any time when we knew that it was forever)
How old is he? Almost 31
Who eats more sweets? No questions asked definitely me. Kyle doesn't even like chocolate, which if you knew his mother you would think this is so strange. His mom is a self proclaimed choc-o-holic. He does like gummi bears though, but they have to be a certain brand and he likes the hard to chew ones.
Who said I love you first? We both said it at the same time. He was taking me to Idaho for the first time and we started talking about our future and as I recall we both said "We were falling in love with each other." Kyle said I said it first, but I don't remember it that way.
Who is taller? Kyle is by maybe a half inch, although according to his drivers license it's by much more. (I lie about my weight on mine, so he can lie about his heigth.)
Who can sing better? It's a toss up, we both have very little muscial talent.
Who is smarter? Definitely Kyle. You could give him an equation to add, subtract, multiply, or divide and he could do it in his head in a matter of seconds, I would still be using my fingers ten minutes later. I guess I would have him beat when it comes to pop culture, but thats about it.
Who does the laundry? Me, but I guess thats my domestic duty. I don't iron though, which I probably should since he has to wear a shirt and tie to work each day.
Who pays the bills? He does it all, I just rack up the bills.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does, does that mean anything?
Who mows the lawn? Neither one of us, we pay our nephews to.
Who cooks dinner? I do occasionally, but I have to admit we eat out a lot.
Who drives? He always does, which I quite enjoy. Although sometimes he scares the crap out of me when he does.
Who is more stubborn? I think it's a tie, we are both pretty stubborn.
Who kissed who first? I kissed him first. It was our 3rd date and he walked me to the door of my apartment and he was just so shy that I thought he never would, so I went in for the kill.
Who asked who out first? He asked me out after his best friend Peter and my next door neighbor introduced us to each other. Although I will admit I had seen him around my apartment complex and had my eye on him.
Who proposed? He did and I was so surprised. We had been talking about it and looking at rings but I had no idea when he was going to do it. He picked me up at my apartment after a day at work and told me he needed to run something over to his bishops house and I really didn't want to go because I had just got off work and was so tired. So we were driving around Logan and I had no idea where we were going and then we stopped at a house right by the park and he kept insisting I get out of the car and come with him. Thats when I noticed he had a blanket layed out on the grass with a dozen roses and homemade ice cream (his specialty) waiting for us. He got down on one knee and even took off his hat to propose, it was such a special night I will never forget.
Who has more siblings? He does but only by one.
Who wears the pants? We both wear the pants in this family, but I'm sure I'll be the disciplinarian when it comes to our daughter.
So here's to you Kyle, my kind and loving husband. Thanks for putting up with all my mood swings through out this pregnancy (heaven only knows how many there have been) and being the wonderful man you are. I truly couldn't have asked for more!!

Baby Jones Update
I'm pretty sure my daughter is going to be stubborn just like me. At my doctors appointment last Thursday and today I was told I have NOT dilated or effaced at all. Granted I still am only 38 & 1/2 weeks, but come on nothing. He can't even strip my membranes to help move things along because you have to at least be at a 1 to do that. So every night we go for a walk, (my dog Oliver is enjoying this part of it though) to try and move her further down but I don't think it's working. My doctor said that your not considered overdue until a week after your due date, so if nothing has happened by March 2nd he'd start me on March 3rd. I personally think that seems like an eternity away, but I guess I should enjoy my freedom now while I still have some. She must be just as scared to meet me as I am her or she knows we can't decide on whether to buy a Lazy Boy or a Glider to rock her in and who would want to come into the world without one of those waiting for you. I know she'll be here when the time is right, but maybe if I promise her a brand new car when she turns 16 she'll come a little early. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Tag I'm It...
So my great friend Jodi tagged me, but I don't know anyone else to tag so I'll just answer them for me.
10 yrs ago:
I was 16 and was a sophmore/junior at Roy High School. Oh the good 'ol days of high school, hanging out with your friends and not having a care in the world. My junior year seems to be a little more "memorable" to me as I dated one guy the entire year, Brandon Hill. It's funny how you think when your 16 years old you have your life figured out and nothing could ever go wrong or be different. Boy if I knew then what I know now, my life would have been completely different. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for the things I went through back then, I wouldn't be the me I am today, but I thought I had found "the one" (seriously at 16 though) and no guy would ever treat me better. Obviously this wasn't true as my husbands name is Kyle and he truly is the love of my life. This is one thing I want my daughter to learn from me and my mistakes...DATE MANY BOYS!! Don't rest your hopes, dreams, and one year of high school on ONE boy who will probably not end up being the guy you even thought he was.
5 Things on my list of things to do today:
1. Shave my legs for my doctors appointment (he was checking my cervix).
2. Be ready by 1:00 so I could go play cards with the girls in my ward (Of course I was late, thats the story of my life)
3. Grocery shop (cereal for dinner each night is getting old)
4. Call family and give them an update about my doctors appointment
5. Update my blog
Things I would do if I suddenly was a Billionaire:
I would build a bigger home and buy a new car without looking at the price. I would buy a cabin on the lake in McCall, so all of my husbands family could have there own suites and we wouldn't have to sleep on top of each other, (although it does make the summers more interesting). I would buy a bigger home for my parents, because they give so much of themselves that they deserve a little back. I would also donate much more of my time and money to help improve the lives of low income families in the Treasure Valley.
3 of my bad habits:
1. I like to pick at things. Whether it's a zit, scab, or problem...I love to pick!!
2. I watch way to much TV. I don't know where I would be without my TiVo.
3. I have a little bit of a potty mouth, I hope my daughter doesn't come out cussing.
Places I have lived:
1. Roy, Utah (born and raised)
2. Logan, Utah (where I met my hubby)
3. Nampa, Idaho (temporarily with the in-laws)
4. Boise, Idaho (home sweet home)
Jobs I have had:
1. Telemarketer for Teleperformance
2. Cashier for Target
3. Human Resources for Target
4. Pharmacy Technician for Target and Walmart
5. Foster Care Licensing (technically my senior internship, but I think it was unpaid labor)
6. Social Worker for Head Start
7. Soon to be Mother (one I am most looking forward to, but most frightened of)
Things most people don't know about me:
I'm a Democrat from Utah/Idaho, two very Republican states, my husband thinks college made me more liberal...I agree with him. I don't think you can learn the things you do becoming a social worker and continue to believe the things you did before.

Our Beautiful Baby Girl!!
Here is a picture of our beautiful baby girl taken a few days ago by the wonderful people at Fetal Fotos. The technican kept saying, "she has the the chubbiest cheeks I've ever seen." She must take after her father then, although he has the dimples to go with them. I get to go back to get some more pictures taken because as you can see she wouldn't move her arm from her face. It almost looks like she is sucking her thumb.

HERE WE GO
Ok, I never thought I would be someone who would blog, but here I am. I had a baby shower in Utah over the weekend and my friends said I had to do it...so here I am girls you really should be proud. I am not computer literate at all, but it's worth a shot if it helps me keep in touch with friends and family while learning how to be a new mom. Thus the reason for the title : Adventures in the life of a new parent. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with my first child, a little GIRL and couldn't be more excited. It took three rounds of interuterine insemination and one miscarriage to get this beautiful spirit here, I'm just hoping I know what to do when she comes. Since I was a little girl I always knew I wanted to be a mom...but back then it was fantasy and now it's for REAL!! (This must be the stage in pregnancy when you start freaking out about everything!!) So through this blog I will keep you updated on the rest of the pregnancy, the birth of our little girl, and my adventures on becoming a new mom (and everything in between). So enjoy and I truly am learning about computers and blogging, so bear with me!!
